View from Raja's seat Madikeri is just around two hours drive from Ashish Estate . Even though, just like most of the popular tourist spots, it is crowded with tourists in the peak season, it is worth visiting because of its scenic beauty. And if crowds don't bother you then Madikeri is worth visiting during Dussehra.The festival here is almost as popular as the Dussehra festival of Mysore. Some of the popular spots in Madikeri that  can be done in couple of days are:- Raja's seat : This used to be a favourite spot of the king. The view from here is absolutely out of the world! The Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery- Golden temple In my recent visit to Coorg in Karnataka, I discovered that Coorg has a little Tibet in it. In fact it is one of the largest settlements of Tibetans in India .Very colourful and serene, the Tibetan settlement is near a place called "Kushalnagar" in Coorg. Kushalnagar will take you around 4-5 hours to reach by road if you are driving from Bengaluru. I found out from Wikipedia that "The Namdroling Nyingmapa Monastery" happens to be the largest teaching centre of Nyingmapa in the World.
