108 Shiva temple complex, Kalna, West Bengal 108 Shiva temples was constructed by Teja Chandra Bahadur in 1809 AD. These temples are in two concentric circles. The outer circle has 74 shiva temples and the inner circle has 34. They represent the beads in a rosary. These beautiful temples are located in Kalna,West Bengal. On Diwali day there is quite a popular fireworks competition in Jadavpur, Kolkata. Innovative names are given to each of them, and the participant comes forward and lights the anar (fountain firework) . If it bursts, you get disqualified.  Quite an interesting competition! I captured a part of it.

The aerial ropeway ride in Rajgir Bihar is quite an interesting ropeway ride. A ride that I thoroughly enjoyed! This video will give you an idea about the ride. At first glance you might wonder if it is safe to take a ride in this, but believe me, it is safe, fun, and quite an affordable ride.  

This post is in continuation to my earlier post on Durga puja prikrama 2012 in North Kolkata. Some of these pandals and Durga idols really mesmerized me.Especailly the Kashi Bose lane one, it was almost like I was in a dream sequence. Amazing! Why does Durga puja end so soon? I could not even get around to seeing half of the Durga puja pandals! So much of creativity, and just for five days!
