Kailasanatha temple Kanchipuram Located in Tamil Nadu, India, Kanchipuram town is around 72 km from Chennai. It used to be the imperial capital of the Pallavas for over five hundred years from the 4th to 9th centuries. Thereafter, the city came under the rule of Cholas from the 10th to 13th century; and of the Vijayanagar kings from 14th to 17th century.The temples in Kanchipuram are divided into sections called Siva-Kanchi, Vishnu-Kanchi, and the third-Jaina-Kanchi. Suryanarayana temple, Lakkundi, Gadag, India The Kasivisvesvara temple in Gadag beautifully connects with another temple, the Surya temple, this temple is dedicated to the Sun God. The architecture is beautiful. Gadag has so many precious ancient temples that it does certainly warrant a visit, especially if you are fond of ancient temple architecture of South India. Mahanavami Dibba, Hampi Mahanavami dibba was the hub of religious activities.People from far of places came to be part of this huge gathering.This platform has some beautiful carvings, must be been so beautiful when it was in it's original form! In continuation with my earlier post on Hampi, here is another beautiful temple structure. Vitthala temple, Hampi Aerial view of the main temple complex Vitthala temple is one of the most beautiful structures in Hampi. I have tried to capture a video of the temple complex.I will upload the Vitthala temple complex video too. The main temple is dedicated to Vishnu and therefore the name Vitthala.
